La Luna Italian Pizzeria and Restaurant
The Italian Pizzeria and Restaurant, La Luna, is a family owned restaurant and serves the best Italian cooking, including pizza, stromboli, calzone, pasta, salads and much more. The Italian pizzeria is with the authentic brick wood oven that makes the pizzas exceptionally good.
La Luna is situated in an old brewery right next to BEST WESTERN Hotel Reykjavik, and some of the restaurant's indoor features bear witness to the history of the building. In 1928 Mr. Holmjarn J. Holmjarn started the ale and soda manu-facturing company Ţór hf. He built a great brewery at Rauđárstígur in 1930. During the war years strong beer was brewed for the occupution forces in this building. In 1967 Egils brewery moved it’s hole operations to Rauđarárstígur and until 1985 operated the largest brewery in the country here. La Luna restaurant emphasis on creating a cosy and romantic atmosphere with Italian family style.
